Niger State Government says it is set to distribute about 120 trucks of assorted grains procured by the government to complement the 46 trucks of food palliative by the Federal government, this week.
Governor Umar Bago who made the disclosure when he met with all the Emirs from the eight Emirate Councils, the 25 Local Government Council Chairmen, and the Imams Forum also added that Ramadan feeding centres will be set up too.

In a statement by his chief press secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, Bago said the distribution of the grains will be done across all the 25 local government areas of the State and will be coordinated by all the Emirs in the 8th Emirate Councils.
The Governor further stated that Council Chairmen, Religious Leaders, security agents, and all other relevant stakeholders in the State will be included in the distribution process to ensure effective and fair distribution.

He advised all involved to be responsible and not sabotage the effort as anyone found wanting would be dealt with accordingly.
As this year’s Ramadan approaches, Bago disclosed that feeding centers would be established in all the Local government areas of the State to feed Muslims throughout the month.
He therefore appreciated the Religious Scholars for their fervent prayers and encouraged them to continue to pray for the State and the Country at large for prosperity.
Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Yahaya Abubakar who commended the Governor for his leadership style, said, traditional Institutions will harmonise their structures, that of the State down to the Ward level to achieve the desired results.
