The president, Coalition of Northern States Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (CONSCCIMA), Hezekiah Adediji, has challenged governors in the northern region to partner with the chamber to create job opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths in the area.

Adediji disclosed this in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital while addressing newsmen, he blamed the rising spate of insecurity including insurgency in the region on the unavailability of jobs, pointing out that the ugly situation has turned the jobless youth into willing tools in the hands of mischief-makers.

Adediji while challenging the northern governors to interface with the local chamber of commerce in their respective states, maintained that they are professionals, who could be of help in addressing the problems of unemployment in the country.

He further expressed concern that the past experience showed that most of the state governors were unwilling to provide avenues for collaboration with the chamber except members of the political class.

Similarly, in his lecture, the director of, Centre for Entrepreneurship, Kwara State University, Malete, Dr Sunday Ojo, urged the government to improve on critical infrastructure to help grow Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs).

Ojo therefore called on SMEs operators to find a way of doing proper training for their members to be able to identify problem facing them and seek way to resolve it.
