Youths in Garkida Community in Adamawa State have called on Nigerian authorities to come to their rescue and improve security in the area against the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents.
Their cry for help followed Christmas Eve coordinated attacks on the community by suspected Boko Haram insurgents.
The attacks claimed the lives of several members of the community with dozens of others kidnapped for ransom.

Addressing journalists in Yola, the group said the Federal Government was yet to visit the community to assess the level of destruction.
The youths however said they are prepared to work with security agencies to safeguard their community even as they called on the residents of Garkida to be alert and security conscious at all times.
