The Kano state government is to dealing decisively with violators of Covid-19 protocols in the state.

This follows residents indifference about the second wave of Covid 19, as Nigeria battles with the daily increase of new cases.

Some of the residents still don’t believe in the existence of the virus, as they neglect safety measures.

In major streets and markets of the state, it was business as usual, with no safety protocols being observed, except in banks, courts, and eateries.

The decision of the state government to set up a mobile court that will enforce Covid 19 safety protocols, may not be unconnected with the rising cases of infected persons in the state, and the negligence of the residents.

Some of the residents say, they struggle to breathe, whenever they wear a face mask.

Many however blamed this development on ignorance.

Professor Isah Abubakar of the Centre For Infectious Disease Research, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, blamed the spike in the occurrence of the disease on the fact that people no longer observe safety protocols, with the belief that the virus is gone.
