Kano State rules out lockdown of schools to fight Covid-19 second wave

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje says, the closure of schools amid second wave of Covid-19 could cause another tragedy of taking the society back again.

Ganduje said this during stakeholders meeting with members of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT and some selected head teachers in the series of sensitisation on the second wave of Covid-19.

He stressed that the State Government has no plans to lockdown schools.

A statement by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abba Anwar says though there is dire need to fight the pandemic using all available avenues, the repercussions of certain actions in the process must be clearly understood.
