The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the death of a young Man who Jumped and hid inside a well to evade EFCC arrest in Jos, the State Capital.
The Command, through its Spokesperson, ASP Gabriel Ubah, confirmed the incident in a chat with ait.live on Sunday, February 7, but did not disclose the identity of the Young Man.
The yet to be identified young man was confirmed dead after he was brought out of a well in the Farin Gada area, a suburb of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau state.
It was gathered that the deceased jumped from a storey building while attempting to flee from operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, who allegedly stormed their house at ECWA staff quarters to arrest him and his friends for alleged fraud and cybercrime.
The corpse of the deceased was brought out of the well by men of the Federal Fire Service Jos, after a report was lodged in their office.
Meanwhile, the ECWA Staff community was thrown into confusion following the incident, as 6 flat mates of the deceased were arrested and taken away by the operatives of the EFCC.
Efforts to speak with any family member of the deceased was unsuccessful as none of them was willing to speak but a community member who pleaded anonymity said his legs were broken as a result of the high jump, which could have led to his collapsed inside the well, where he entered to hide.

The state Police command has launched an investigation into the matter after evacuating the corpse from the scene of the incident.
