The men of Operation Safe Haven deployed to ensure maximum security of citizens of Plateau state, part of Bauchi and Southern Kaduna, have arrested a notorious Kidnapper Adamu Umar, and some members of his gang, who have been terrorizing communities in Plateau state.
Umar and his gang, who were arrested in their tent behind the Plateau state new government house, after he was shot in the leg in an attempt to run, were paraded alongside 20 other members of a militia group, armed robbers and drug dealers at the OPSH headquarters in Jos.
The arrest of Adamu Umar, followed a complain by one Rabiu Muhammad, who’s wife Zuwaira Mohammed, was lured by the kidnap kingpin Adamu Umar, around 7am within Guratop, in Rayfield, Jos.
The Adamu Umar, claimed to have some items to sell to the victim, He then held her captive and demanded a ransom of 2 million naira from her husband, to effect her release.
The husband who reported this to the OPSH, Was advised to play along and pay the ransom. A collection point was then agreed upon, which happened to be inside one of the tents behind the new Government House in Jos.

Troops of the OPSH quickly swung into action, stormed the location, arrested the abductors and rescued the victim.
ait.live gathered, that the leader of the kidnapping gang, Adamu umar, had previously been arrested twice.
He was also on the wanted list of the police anti-kidnap squad, a development that was confirmed by the state Police command through its spokesperson ASP Gabriel Ubah.
In another development, troops of OPSH have also arrested a group of armed robbers, along Bida-Bidi – Zaria Road in Jos North LGA, while others were neutralised during a gun battle.
A locally fabricated AK47 rifle was recovered, with 2 rounds of 7.62mm bullets.
Similarly, 5 gunrunners were apprehended at Zololo Junction, Zaria Road and Angwan rimi also with 2 locally made pistols and one Ak47 rifle. Others are members of a local Militia group linked to recent attacks within the joint operation area.
Recalled that a new law that stipulated death sentence on kidnappers, had just been passed in Plateau state.
