Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has taken a swipe at the immediate past administration for what he described as a project that was billed to fail from the beginning.
The Governor was speaking when he undertook an assessment tour of the Benin Stormwater project at the Textile mill road axis of Benin City.
The Benin stormwater project was initiated by the immediate past administration as a means of solving the problem of flooding in the state permanently.

It however became a subject of controversy when the issue of flooding persisted and tongues began to wag, with accusations and counter-accusations trailing the project.
Governor Obaseki also inspected the reconstruction work at Ekehuan road and expressed satisfaction at the level of work done.
The reconstruction work which was billed to be completed in thirty-six months has been reviewed and will now last for twenty-four months.
