Six thousand five hundred Kano State indigenes have received free registration forms to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board, JAMB.
Kano state Governor Abba Yusuf who says the free UTME registration is aimed at increasing access to higher education by Kano State indigenes, also highlighted some investment by his administration in the education sector.
At the distribution exercise held at the coronation hall in Kano, Governor Abba Yusuf said the push factor for the free registration is to increase access to higher education for kano state indigenes
The governor noted that over one billion naira has been paid to register kano indigenes in national examinations while highlighting efforts made to encourage girl child education.
The free UTME registration is coming a few months after the governor distributed free resource materials to primary and secondary schools, as well as digital teaching aids to teachers across forty-four local government areas of the state.
