Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu says some of the tough policies including the fuel subsidy removal, harmonisation of foreign exchange, and the recent hike in electricity tariff are all temporary pains that Nigerians should bear inorder to get to the desired expectation of all.
He was speaking while addressing the newsmen on Friday in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
The Minister explained that government is currently subsidising about 67% of power supply which translates to N2.9 trillion insisting that it is no longer realistic.
He noted that government in response to the current hardship Nigerians are currrently going through, did not remove the current subsidy like it did in the oil sector and is continuing with the subsidy but it is starting the journey with the Band A Consumers who are affected by the new electricity tariff hike.
