Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro, is appealing to residents of the Jangebe community where the schoolgirls were abducted by unknown gunmen to be calm, and allow security operatives to do their work.
The call is coming against the background of the fact that the Commissioner and even journalists could not access the Government Girls Science School Jangebe, because of the anger of the community members, over the unfortunate incident.

He said the police have information that the abducted girls were taken to the forest and security operatives are applying caution to secure their release unhurt.
The abduction of the 317 school girls at the Jangebe community of Talata Marafa Local Government Area of Zamfara State is coming barely four hours after three notorious bandits surrendered assorted sophisticated rifles and several ammunition to embrace peace.
