Nigerian Youths Invade Coal City As Chief Of Naval Staff, NOWA Tournaments Begin

The much awaited 20th edition of the Chief of the Naval Staff U -14 boys and the Naval Officers Wives Association NOWA U-17 girls tournaments kicked off Sunday in Enugu State South East Nigeria

The opening ceremony of the competitions organized by the Youth Sports Federation Of Nigeria YSFON witnessed the attendance of dignitaries from different walks of life

The special guest of honour was the Chief of the Naval Staff Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla represented by Rear Admiral Christantus Ekwom.while Mrs Ekwom represented the NOWA President.

In his opening remarks Emmanuel Ogalla admonished Nigerian Youths to be focused, develop their talents, shun Criminal activities as well as work towards making Nigeria a great country

Despite the fear of insecurity and economic hardship, over 28 States are currently participating in the 10-day football event
Prior to the kick off, the states went through the crucial screening exercise that added credibility to the flagship competition.

Immediately after the march past, the NOWA tournament took the center stage with host Enugu State facing their Osun state counterparts. The highly competitive encounter ended 1-0 in favour of Osun state.

On his part YSFON’S National President Yusuf Gawuna ably represented by the National Vice President of the South East Sunday Ndubuisi Opara thanked the Nigerian Navy for their commitment, cooperation and unwavering support for the Nigerian Youths.

YSFON Promised to continue to do it’s best to enable the Youths change their attitude and work towards improving and fortunes of our country

The organizing committee has declared Monday a match free day to enable the Youths fine tune their strategy for Tuesday’s hostilities.
