The Kebbi State Police Command has placed its officers and men at alert, and warned troublemakers with the intention to disturb the Eid-el-fitr celebration, to stay away from the State.
It has also called on the people to use the period for sober reflection and to offer prayers for the peace and progress of the State, and the nation at large.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Chris Aimionowane, in a statement assured the people of sustained efforts at improving public safety and security, before, during and after this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
The CP has also charged all Area Commanders, DPOs, and Tactical Commanders to ensure visibility policing and aggressive patrols in their respective Areas of Responsibility.
He further directed them to dominate the State with overt and covert security deployments, in order to safeguard the lives and properties of the people and provide adequate security coverage to all worship and recreational centres.
CP Chris Aimionowane, equally congratulated Muslims in the State for their successful completion of the Ramadan and wishes them a blissful Eid-el-Fitri celebration.
He called on religious leaders, worshippers, and residents of the State, to as usual, cooperate with the police and other security agencies in the State, as adequate security arrangements have been put in place to guarantee a hitch-free celebration.
