Former Nigerian Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has congratulated Muslims in the country for the successful completion of the mandatory fasting in the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The former Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in a statement said that the lessons of the Ramadan fasting should remain abiding, even when the Holy Month has passed.

He also noted that while this year’s Ramadan fasting was observed in a season of tough economic conditions, the forbearance with which Nigerian Muslims adopted it is a principle that the noble Prophet Mohammed, SAW enjoined his followers to live by at all times.

He prays that the supplications of every believing Muslim and everyone else shall be answered by the Almighty Allah and wishes Nigerians a blessed Eid-el-fitr holiday.

Meanwhile, President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has also congratulated Muslims in Nigeria for the successful end of the 30 days Ramadan fast. Akpabio’s congratulatory message is contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Eseme Eyiboh.

Akpabio urged Muslims to continue to offer prayers for peace, unity, and prosperity in Nigeria, reiterating that Islam is a religion of peace. He advised Nigerians to pray for their leaders, peace, and unity of the country to overcome its current challenges.

He urged Muslims to radiate the peace that Islam preaches, the love and care for the less privileged that Prophet Mohammed exemplified.
