Three soldiers of the Special Task Force Operation Safe Haven deployed to maintain Peace in Plateau State, parts of Bauchi State and Southern Kaduna have been gruesomely murdered while discharging their constitutional duties between Mangu and Barkin Ladi LGAs of Plateau State.
Commander of the Task Force, Major-General Abdusalam Abubakar who confirmed this said they will stop at nothing to ensure justice for three slain soldiers. He was speaking at an unusual gathering of the troops to celebrate the Eid-El-Fitr festival in Jos.
While appreciating the sacrifices, professionalism and determination exhibited by the personnel, particularly in a challenging terrain like Plateau State, Major-General Abubakar, urged them to honour the memory of their fallen comrades who had paid the supreme price.
The troops were assured, that the Army headquarters will provide requisite leadership, welfare and logistics to motivate them for effective and successful conduct of their operations.
The colourful Eid programme was well attended by both serving and retired top military officers and stakeholders in Peace Building.
