Vice President Kashim Shettima has extolled the virtues of late Ogbonnaya Onu, describing the former Minister of Science and Technology as a true statesman and accomplished Nigerian leader, whose legacies will continue to inspire generations of leaders to come.
In a statement he personally signed, Shettima notes that the impact of the first civilian governor of Abia State on Nigeria’s political landscape is immeasurable, adding that the deceased statesman laid a strong foundation for good governance and democratic principles which will forever be remembered.
The Vice president says Onu’s dedication to nation-building was evident in his focus on fostering scientific advancements and technological innovation in Nigeria, especially during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
According to him, beyond his political achievements, Dr. Onu was a patriot and a man of integrity, wisdom, and unwavering principles, who dedicated his life to the progress and development of the nation.
