Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara says efforts at achieving development in Nigeria or any other society will be achieved if the health and welfare of the people are taken into consideration; stressing that there cannot be meaningful development when the society is unhealthy.
Speaking when the President of the Nigerian Medical Association led a team of other national and state officials on a thank you visit to the Government House Port Harcourt, Governor Fubara noted that his administration will also invest heavily in the welfare and training of health workers while providing a befitting health sector for the people.

President of the Nigerian Medical Association Uche Ojinmah said the gesture of the Rivers State Government is not only worthy of emulation but would also help stem the tide of doctors leaving the country for greener pastures.
Governor Sim Fubara explained that his administration intends to do more for health workers in Rivers State.
The governor further disclosed that his administration has already beamed its focus on revamping primary and secondary health facilities across the state.
The Rivers State Governor also reminded the doctors and other health workers in the state to reciprocate the benefits they have enjoyed to live up their responsibilities especially to the medical needs of the people.
