Akwa Ibom styate Governor, Umo Eno has authorized the immediate release of One point Four billion Naira for further payment of gratuities.
According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udo, the action was in fulfillment of his campaign promise and a further demonstration of the Governor’s people- centric approach to governance which has seen him consistently released funds for payments.
The statement indicated that N900 million was for retired State civil servants, while N500 million is for retired Primary school teachers.
The latest release brings the total amount of gratuities paid so far by the Governor since assumption of office 10 months ago to N16.1 billion.
