In Benue State, 2,900 rural women, are to benefit from the first phase of the Federal government’s special grant, as part of its social inclusion and poverty reduction strategy.
The permanent secretary in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Bashir Alkali, made this known while flagging off the initiative in Makurdi the Benue State capital.
The symbolic presentation of the federal government’s special cash grant to rural women, is geared towards poverty alleviation and economic growth.

For Jane Awunah like several other beneficiaries, the intervention could not have come at a better time.
If properly utilised the 20,000 Naira cash grant to be disbursed to 2,900 beneficiaries in the first phase, should go a long way to stimulate economic growth.
