Business Partnership Visit: Gov Alia Returns To Nigeria

The Benue State Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has returned to Nigeria after a visit to Washington DC were he engaged in discussions with other world leaders, exploring opportunities for partnership and collaboration that would benefit the people of the State.

Alia who disclosed plans to expand the agricultural sector folllowing the visit, also wants his predecessor and others who do not have anything positive to contribute to the development of the State to be quiet.

The governor returned home to a rousing reception after his visit to the United States.

He spoke on his mission as well as other interactions which he used the opportunity to have with a view to attracting foreign intervention and investment.

He sent a message to his predecessor to refrain from interfering in his administration.

Alia also wants anyone who had referred to the youth in the State as thugs, to withdraw the statement insisting that the youth are the backbone of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the State.

He also demanded an apology from the punch newspapers whom he faulted its recent publication regarding welfare of workers who he said haven’t had it this good since 1999.

Governor Alia further revealed plans to modernise and expand farming and also migrate the State from one time farming season to at least twice a year.

Alia warned house or hotel owners whose properties may be used by kidnappers to be more vigilant as any property used to perpetrate crime will be pulled down.

The Governor also plans to establish a call centre so the State Government can be the first respondents to react swiftly to any suspicious activity to curb all forms of crime.
