Following series of recent attacks on police facilities in some parts of the country, Ebonyi State Government wants the Police and other security agencies in the state to step up their game and forestall eventual attacks on their facilities.
This was part of the resolutions reached during the State’s expanded security council meeting held in Abakaliki.
Since January 2021, several police stations and other security facilities in the South Eastern region of Nigeria have come under attacks by unknown gunmen.
This had resulted to causalities and loss of large quantities of arms and ammunitions on the part of the security agencies.
Available records in Ebonyi state indicate that Police divisions in Onueke, Izhi, Onicha and Mgboto have all come under recent attacks.
Concerned about this ugly trend, the Ebonyi state government at a Security council meeting, passed a resolution on the way out.
