At least 13 persons have been killed in Guyuk Local Government Area of Adamawa State over a clash between communities on the border with Gombe State.

Executive Secretary, Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency, ADSEMA, Mohammed Suleiman confirmed this to newsmen.

According to him, the communal clash is a spillover from the crises that erupted in neighbouring Gombe State, between the Waja and Lunguda communities.

The 3 villages of Walu, Falu and Lamza were completely razed, and several people injured.

Suleiman said over 1,200 displaced persons are presently being accommodated at the Guyuk Primary School in Guyuk Local Government Area and more are being registered into the camp.

When contacted, the State Police Public  Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje said, they are yet to receive any report on the number of casualties.

He also said that normalcy has been restored and more security personnel deployed to the affected communities.

This is not the first time the two communities will be involved in communal clashes over land dispute, resulting in the loss of lives and property worth millions of Naira.
