Kano State government has reiterated its commitment to improve reading and learning culture among primary school pupils in the state.
The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Saidu Kiru, said this during the celebration of English Language Day/World Book Day 2121, held at the State Library.
As part of the commemoration, Development Research and Project Centre, DRPC, donated 300 primary 3 & 4 children’s books to the Kano State Library.
The Executive Secretary, Kano State Library Board, Dr. Ibrahim Bichi, applauded the efforts of DRPC.

The Head, National Library of Nigeria Kano, Yakubu Lamidi said, they are working to complement the efforts of the state government.
The Project officer of the Teacher Development Transition To English Language of DRPC, Aisha Bello, said the donation of the books is aimed at strengthening the reading and learning outcomes of the children in the state.
The Development, Research and Project Centre has been working in Kano, to support the education sector, since 1994.
