Rivers Angels FC wins 2021 Nigeria Women League

Rivers Angels Football Club has emerged champions of the 2021 Nigeria Women’s Football League.

The Port Harcourt-based team defeated Sunshine Queens 4-nil on the last day of the season-ending super six tournament at the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, South West, Nigeria to maintain an unbeaten run in the tournament.

Oghenebrume Ikheuka and Vivian Okechukwu scored in the first half while Alice Ogbe and Mary Ann Ezeanagu’s goals in the second half ensured that Godwin Okon’s side finished top of the table with 11 points.

By the victory, Rivers Angels will represent Nigeria at the WAFU B playoffs for the maiden Women’s CAF Champions League.
