The Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, says his administration will continue to support the Uhola International Cultural Festival, so that it can be held annually.
Promoting culture, according to the governor, is part of his administration’s key agenda, in order to promote unity amongst the people.
The governor made the assertion at the 2024 Uhola International Cultural Festival and Agricultural Show in Zuru Emirate.
He said the event has elevated the status of Zuru Emirate and Kebbi State as a whole, to the world.
“Promoting our culture is one of the key points of our administration, and we have assured our royal fathers of our support,” he assured.

He also gave an assurance that other notable festivals in the state, like the Argungu International Fishing Festival, the Gwandu Horse Race, Durbar, and the Yauri Rigata Cultural Festival, would be equally supported by his administration.
On security, Idris assured the people of the Emirate that security remained the number one priority of his administration, because of the belief that without peace,there is no development.
‘”My government spends N500 million monthly on security,’ he averred.
The Emir of Zuru, Sani Sami Gomo 11, who is the custodian of the event, was full of delight and commendation for Governor Nasir Idris, for attending and supporting the Emirate with funds, to stage the festival, which has been listed in the calendar of the National Tourism Development Authority (NTDA.)
The theme for this year’s festival is, “Unity and Prosperity,” drawing attention towards utilising culture and the arts.
The representative of the President, Middle Belt Forum, Dr. Bitrus Bogu, acknowledged the rich culture of Nigeria and the agricultural potential displayed at the event.
