Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang

Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang says his visit to the United States Institute for Peace has provided him and some other northern governors a broader perspective on how to tackle security challenges in their states.

He made this known on Monday on his arrival from the United States of America where he attended a Peace summit together with some Northern Governors.

Government officials and many party supporters were all out in their numbers with excitement to receive the Governor at the Yakubu Gowon Airport Haipang

Governor Mutfwang noted that the current security challenges being faced in some northern states are assuming an international dimension hence the need for international collaboration to address it.

Shortly after arrival, the governor headed to the Plateau State University Bokkos which has been in the News recently following attacks in the host community.

The vice chancellor of the institution while appreciating the governor for the visit, laid down several challenges being faced by the institution

The governor while assuring the university community of his administration’s resolve to put an end to the continued attacks, said under his administration the university will be repositioned to an enviable height.

It will be recalled that on the 19th of April, a student of Plateau State University was killed in an attack within the university community, leading to the closure of the institution, but has since been reopened for academic activities.
