The Edo State Government says it has no case in court against the Oba of Benin, His Royal Highness, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare the second.
A statement signed by the Special Adviser to Governor Godwin Obaseki on Media Strategy, Crusoe Osagie, condemned rumours making the rounds on social media of an impending court case by the State Government against the Oba of Benin, describing it as the handiwork of enemies of the State.

The statement says in the matter being referenced, by those described as purveyors of fake news, Edo State Government is a defendant, which means the State government is being sued adding that the State Government maintains a cordial relationship with the Royal Palace and holds the Benin Monarch in high esteem.
