A day after Victor Oko-Jumbo was announced as the new Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Governor Sim Fubara has paid an unscheduled inspection visit to the residential quarters of the lawmakers

Governor Fubara who also inspected some road projects lined up for commissioning during his first one year in office told Journalists he visited the Assembly quarters to see if there are areas his administration could asist with.

ait.live gathered that in a couple of days from now, activities to mark Sim Fubara’s first year in office as the Governor of Rivers will commence

Some of the events lined up include, the flag off and commissioning of projects across the State.

The Governor has therefore decided to take advantage of the few days at hand to personally go round and ensure that the projects selected for commissioning are not only ready but are also of high standard and quality

This Thursday, Governor Fubara inspected the over 23 kilometre Emohua to Kalabari road built at the cost of over 21 billion Naira

It is the only road that connects all the three Kalabari Local Government Areas to the rest of the State

Governor Fubara said the new road is a testament to his administration’s commitment to spreading development across the State; noting that the interest and welfare of the people will always come first

At the visit to the official quarters of the lawmakers of the Rivers State House of Assembly, the Governor said he had come to see if there are areas his administration can intervene in the provision of adequate infrastructure and conducive residential environment for the legislators.
