The Nigerian Army has announced plans to harness technology to bolster the efficiency of its combat arms corps, across operational theatres.

Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, affirmed this commitment during the conclusion of the 2024 Combat Arms’ Training Week, held in Jaji, Kaduna State.

The Combat Arms’ Training Week culminated in a showcase of infantry and armour corps equipment, highlighting the fruits of research and development initiatives.

A dynamic display of firepower from various infantry and armour platforms, underscored the Army’s capability to safeguard the nation’s territorial integrity.

Of notable significance during the demonstration, was the utilisation of unmanned aerial drones for precision bomb deployment on enemy targets, complemented by a cordon and search rescue operation, conducted by cadets of the 71 Regular Course, showcasing their preparedness for future challenges.

Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja,
in his message, delivered by Major General Sani Muhammad, the Chief of Training, reiterated the Army’s commitment to leveraging technology, to fulfil its mandate of safeguarding national sovereignty.

He also pledged to foster innovation, aimed at enhancing the operational efficacy of Army formations and units in the field.

The Army Chief emphasised that the insights gleaned from the Combat Arms’ Training Week, would be instrumental in improving operational efficiency, across its theatres.
