Detained journalist, Daniel Ojukwu has been released after ten days in Police custody.
His freedom followed a massive protest by civil society organizations, journalists and lawyers who stormed the police headquarters in Abuja.
During their demonstration on Thursday, the commissioner of police FCT, Ben Igweh assured the protesters of Ojukwu ‘s release.
Ojukwu who works with an online publisher, Foundation Investigative journalism was arrested by the Nigeria police in Lagos on May first, for alleged violation of the Cyberime act, often criticized as tool for censorship.
He was transferred to Abuja for further investigation by the police.
The online publisher, Foundation Investigative journalism in a statement signed by the BOT chairman Bukky Shonibare, thanked the civil society organizations, journalists and lawyers who came out in their numbers to demand for the release of Daniel Ojukwu.
