Kano state has concluded plans to computerize its land administration using the geographic information systems aimed at generating revenue from land allocation and resolving disputes arising from it.

Commissioner for land and physical planning who briefed journalists after the state executive council meeting chaired by the governor Abba Yusuf says the days of land racketeering are over.

The persistent cases of land racketeering is a major challenge faced by state governments across Nigeria, causing the state’s revenue leakages, conflicts between residents and communities.

Briefing journalists at the end of the state executive council meeting chaired by governor Abba Yusuf, Commissioner for land and physical planning says, Kano state has resolved to adopt full computerization of its land administration, using the geographic information system technology.

The commissioner outlines major advantages the state stands to benefit using the GIS technology
