The Chairman of Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite has assured intending pilgrims that Israel is safe for pilgrimage despite the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine.
Bishop Adegbite who spoke during a courtesy visit to the State Governor, Hope Uzodmma at the Government House, Owerri, said the Israeli authorities have given Nigeria a written assurance that the country is safe for pilgrimage.
Presenting an award to the Governor, Adegbite described Uzodimma as, the Pilgrimage Governor of the Year 2023 and one that has given hope to the hopeless, as well as lives to the people.
Governor Uzodimma in his response, thanked the leadership of NCPC for deeming it fit and necessary to honour him with the Award, promising to partner the Commission in the service to God and humanity.
The Governor however advised the leadership of the NCPC to endeavour to give those who have not been to the holy land before, the opportunity to have the experience, than recycling previous visitors.
