Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara says he owes allegiance to the entire people of the state and not to any individual or group.

In that vein, the governor says he will continue to focus on genuine actions that will positively impact the lives of the majority of the people, even in the face of deliberate attempts to sabotage his government.

Speaking at the start of a twenty-day activity to mark his first year in office, Governor Fubara says governance is about service to the majority of the people, and not to a few individuals or groups.

To set the ball rolling, Governor Sim Fubara has invited his colleague from neighbouring Abia State, Dr. Alex Oti, to commission the 10.89-kilometre Aleto-Ebubu-Eteo Road, popularly known as the old Bori Road.

The construction of the old Bori Road is one of the interventions made by the Fubara administration, to provide alternative routes on the dilapidated section of the East-West Road that connects the Okrika and Ogoni axes of the state, as well as the strategic Oil and Gas-free Zones housing the Onne Port, the Port Harcourt Refinery, and other national assets.

Governor Sim Fubara says his number one priority is the people to whom he owes allegiance.

He adds that his administration will continue to identify with the people-oriented policies of the Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government.

For his part, Abia State Governor Alex Otti says, the people of Rivers State should count themselves lucky to have a governor like Sim Fubara.

He says his younger colleague has, through his good works, shown that governance is all about the people and nothing more.

Monday’s event also sees the people of Eleme Kingdom conferring on Governor Sim Fubara, the title of Emere Ajuri, meaning ‘the King of Peace’.
