The Northern Speakers’ Forum has called on the governors of the region to resolve their differences, and unite to fight the menace of different forms of insecurity bedevilling Northern Nigeria.
The forum in a communique issued at the end of its meeting in Kaduna, over the spate of insecurity in the region said, the federal government should use the instrumentality of the ongoing constitutional review to provide for state police.

While also calling for devolution of power, the forum wants the federal government to engage security experts in training local vigilante groups.
The forum also wants the federal government to recruit more personnel into the Nigerian Armed Forces and the Nigeria Police Force to deal more decisively with the current security challenges.
