The government of Ebonyi State, South East Nigeria, has donated some crime-fighting equipment to the police in the area.
The items include 90 pairs of crashed helmet and bulletproof vests.
The support is coming at a time the police appear to be recording some breakthroughs against armed hoodlums who had in the last few months engaged in series of violent attacks on security personnel and other public facilities.

Ebonyi State Commissioner for Internal Security and Border Peace, Stanley Okoro-Emegha, who presented the protective equipment to the State Commissioner for Police, Aliyu Garba, said it is part of the government’s efforts towards strengthening the police for optimal performance.
Emegha assured the police boss of the unalloyed support of the state government with security agencies in the strive at ensuring the security and safety of all residents.
