It does pay to factor in good environmental practices in the operations of oil and gas facilities in Nigeria as those who have set a benchmark in Environmental Sustainability in the sector have been honoured.
At an event to appreciate the exemplary commitment of the companies in reducing Nigeria’s carbon emission through the use of Cleaner Technologies, Minister of State for Environment, Iziaq Salako urged other facilities to emulate environmental best practices that aligns with global environmental goals.
Key among actions that stood some of the benefitting companies out are the complete flare out of gases in their facilities, control, prompt reporting and clean up of oil spills among other environmental regulatory compliance practices.
They were honoured for best performance at this event put together by the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency NOSDRA in collaboration with Stakeholder Democracy Network SDN after scaling through a thorough screening exercise.
