Organised labour in Nigeria has rejected another government proposed upward review of the minimum wage from ₦57,000 to the previously proposed N54, 000.
Labour also rejected the organised private sector”s proposal of ₦57,000 from its initial N54,000=.
Labour however shifted ground to N497,000 from its earlier N615,000 proposal.
The 37-member tripartite committee meeting has been adjourned to next Tuesday (May 28)
Organised labour made up of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, say there is no going back on its May 31 ultimatum to the federal government to announce a new and acceptable national minimum wage.
