The House of Representatives Committee on the North East Development Commission, (NEDC), has expressed satisfaction with the quality of work, on the various projects being executed in Borno State.

Chairman of the Committee, Usman Zannah, said this when his committee was inspecting some of the projects in Jere and Mafa Local Government Areas, in the state.

The Reps Committee on the North East Development Commission, (NEDC), also inspected the rehabilitation work at the Alau Dam Emergency Spillway, and commended the contractor.

“We are here to examine, to see and evaluate the NEDC. We have gone round, we have seen what the commission has done, particularly the roads in Jere Bowl linking the many farming communities in Jere and Mafa Local Government Areas. We want to commend the management of NEDC for their performance.”

The committee also witnessed the distribution of 1,000 water pumps, 400 cartons of herbicides, 200 spaghetti making machines and 200 grinding machines, to farmers in Jere and Mafa Local Government Areas, by the NEDC, and urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items.

The committee also lauded the NEDC for boosting agricultural production in the communities, affected by the Boko Haram insurgency.
