Despite the damage done to the moveable and immovable items belonging to the Edo State Head Office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Benin City, by the torrential rain on Friday, May 24, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Anugbum Onuoha, says the Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, scheduled for Monday, May 27, 2024, will hold as planned.

The assurance was given when Governor Godwin Obaseki paid an assessment visit to the premises of the Commission on Aduwawa Road on his way to other areas devastated by the downpour.

The torrential rain which lasted for several hours in Benin City, left destruction in its wake. Governor Obaseki regrets the destruction and says palliative works will be carried out even as plans are being made for a permanent solution to the perennial flooding in the area.

The Governor and his entourage proceeded from there to Utteh community to inspect an emerging gully and also to interface with the people.
