The Kaduna State Government says it has spent its internally generated revenue (IGR) to execute more projects for the socio-economic development of the state, to fulfil its campaign promise.
The Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, (KADIRS), Jerry Adams, disclosed this at a Stakeholders Sensitization Workshop on Withholding Tax Remittance in Kaduna.
The sensitization workshop is aimed to enlighten key stakeholders from the various sectors, on the new revenue line, focusing on withholding tax on rent, which has not been collected over the years, and the importance of paying taxes, which in turn will be used for development
The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, emphasised that Governor Uba Sani has been using the state’s IGR and other resources judiciously, for the betterment of all.
The former Chairman of the Nigerian Association of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, Kaduna Branch, Abdulkareem Sule, said that they are ready to support the government’s initiative and comply with the tax laws, believing it is in the interest of the state development.
While calling on business owners to pay their taxes, Adams said that KADIRS is strategizing with a moderate approach, to keep people in business and not drive them out of it.
