Gombe State government has assured residents that it would ensure their vaccination against the Human Papilloma Virus as well as a public enlightenment in the rural areas on false narratives about the virus.

The wife of the State Governor, Asmau Inuwa Yahaya disclosed this while flagging off the vaccination exercise in the company of the State Commissioner for Health, Habu Dahiru on the daughters of the first family and other girls in the State.

The exercise is an opportunity to restore hope to the young girls in the State.

Apart from providing the vaccinations, the State is equally taking the opportunity to enlighten the people on the importance of vaccinations against Human Papilloma Virus.

Though an infection of the Human Papilloma virus leads to cervical cancer if not attended to, health officials with routine vaccinations which are provided free of charges, girls would live beyond the fear and injury that is beyond treatment

To change the false narratives on the negative effects of the vaccine on the girl-child, top government officials including the first family of Gombe State publicly vaccinated their daughters, thereby advancing the enlightenment campaigns on the people, especially in the rural areas to change wrong stories and ensure that young girls take full advantage of the vaccination exercise.
