Senator Abdul Ningi (PDP, Bauchi Central) resumed legislative duties at the Senate plenary on Tuesday, following his recall from a 90-day suspension imposed on March 12, 2024.
The Senate had unanimously approved his return in a motion sponsored by Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro, on behalf of the minority caucus.

Senator Ningi’s suspension stemmed from allegations of budget padding leveled against the Senate during an interview with BBC Hausa service.
After his suspension, he lost his chairmanship position of the Senate Committee on National Identity and Population, which was reassigned to Senator Mustapha Musa (APC, Yobe East).
Senator Ningi was among the early arrivals at the National Assembly for Tuesday’s plenary session, marking his return to legislative activities after a 75-day absence.
