The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the deaths of two students at the Federal Polytechnic, Bida.
The spokesperson of the police, Superintendent Wasi’u Abiodun, while confirming the incident, gave the names of the deceased as Bam and Aisha.
According to him, on June 8, at about 3:30 pm, information was received that the two lifeless bodies of a man identified as Mr. Bam and an HND female student of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, were found dead in their lodge at ‘D’ Aliyu House, Kobbo, Bida.
Upon receipt of the information, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of ‘B’ Division, Bida, led police operatives to the scene, where the door of the room was forcefully opened, and it was discovered that the bodies were lying dead on the floor, in the sitting room.
Abiodun further added that left-over food and some tablets were discovered at the scene, and were taken for medical analysis.
According to him, there was no sign of struggle or any mark of violence observed on the bodies, as the corpses were removed to the Federal Medical Centre, Bida, for autopsy.
A source conversant with the incident has said that their remains were laid to rest around 4 p.m. on Sunday in Bida.
