Troops deployed for counter-terrorism operations in Kaduna State, North-West Nigeria have killed one of the terrorists, who was on transit to unleash mayhem along Mallum Forest and recovered arms and ammunition from them.
The troops, acting on credible intelligence, positioned themselves along the terrorists’ axis of movement. On sighting the terrorists on motorbikes emerging from Mallum forest, through an alternate route, troops engaged them with heavy volume of fire killing one, while others fled in disarray into the nearby forest; thereby preventing a potential attack on innocent civilians.

After, the firefight, the troops thoroughly searched the area and recovered one AK-47 rifle, 5 AK-47 rifle magazines, 18 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 19 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, 2 motorbikes, One Techno phone, head warmers, face masks, and a magazine jacket.
Currently, the troops have intensified their presence in the general area to maintain security and prevent any further threat.
The Army further urges the public to continue to support the troops in the ongoing operations to collectively mitigate security challenges.
