President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to meet with the leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and that of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) on Thursday 18 July, 2024 to finalize minimum wage.

Minister of information and national orientation Mohamed Idris, said this while briefing state correspondents after the eight Executive Council of the Federation meeting at the Presidential Villa Abuja on Monday.

The minister of information told state house correspondents that the executive council took note of the complaints amongst Nigerians, some of which include transportation, food prices and shortages.
He says that the federal government is ramping up all that is needed to address the issues and one of such measure is the provision of 20 trucks of 120, 25kg bags of rice to every state of the federation including the FCT.

He added that President Tinubu will be holding, hopefully, final talks with organized labour as part of efforts to resolve the tension over minimum wage.

The Executive council of federation also directed the presidential Committee on CNG to expedite its activities to supply buses and make it possible for the conversion kits to be available to most Nigerians in order to reduce dependence on petrol.

It also directed the ministry of budget to work on the 2024 budget for an amendment.
