The remains of the late Emir of Ningi, HRH Yunusa Mohammadu Danyaya laid to rest in Ningi local government area of Bauchi State, North-East Nigeria amid tears.
Family members and other sympathisers converged on Ningi town to pay their last respects to the late 88-year-old traditional ruler.
Upon receiving the news of the demise of the Emir, people from different walks of life gathered at the palace to sympathise and observe the funeral prayer for the deceased. The late Emir died during a protracted illness at a hospital in Kano three days after his return from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for medical treatment.
The funeral prayer led by the Chief Imam of Ningi, Dr. Mohammed Umar was attended by different personalities including politicians, traditional and religious leaders amidst grief and tears
Speaking shortly after the funeral prayer, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed described the late Emir of Ningi as father who always demonstrates the good leadership through fostering peace and unity among the diverse people from not only Ningi Emirate but the entire state and beyond
Former Governors of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido and Ahmed Muazu of Bauchi State with Senator Abdul Ningi among others said the Emir’s death has created a huge vacuum that is difficult to fill. They prayed for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness for the late Emir of Ningi
The late Yunusa Danyaya who was buried according to islamic rites spent over 46 years on the throne of his ancestors. He is survived by four wives, 25 children and hundreds of grandchildren.
