Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has announced a cash gift of N100 million for the state-owned women football team, Edo Queens after they emerged winners of the WAFU Group B Inter Clubs play-off to qualify for the CAF Women Champions League.
Thr announcement was made by Governor Obaseki when he received the triumphant team at the Government House in, Benin City, the state capital following their glorious arrival in Benin City.
The victorious Edo Queens presented the trophy they won in the championship in Ivory Coast to a delighted Governor Obaseki and his wife, Betsy Obaseki. They appreciated the team for a job well done, and a generous reward is announced.
Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Yusuf Alli and their Coach, Moses Aduku, lauded the commitment of the State Government to the enhancement of sports.
