The Federal Polytechnic Ede in Osun State, South-West Nigeria has pardoned the 27 students of the institution earlier suspended for their involvement and participation in a violent protest.
The school authority said the decision was taken after an ad hoc committee set up by the institution presented its report.
Chairman of the Governing Council of the Polytechnic Professor Taiwo Olaiya said the affected students were pardoned based on the recommendations of the ad hoc committee that reviewed their cases.
Professor Olaiya however said the affected students have been directed to pay damage fee of N10,000 each with a warning for them to be mindful of their future conduct. He further added that the institution under his watch will not relent in pursuit of excellence.
