Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP say the party is united to ensure that its candidate, Asue Ighodalo wins the September 21, 2024 Governorship election in Edo State, South-South Nigeria.
The Governors gave the pledge when PDP heavyweights and supporters converged on Benin City for the grand finale of the party’s Governorship campaign.
Benin city was agog as national leaders and other heavyweights of the PDP led by former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar threw their weight behind Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie.
The PDP Governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo received the PDP flag tagged “flag of victory”
While reminding party loyalists that the PDP prevented the APC from hijacking their votes in 2020, Atiku called on the people of Edo State to repeat the same feat in next Saturday’s polls.
PDP Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, warns security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC not to be partisan and allow credible, free and fair election.
Party bigwigs that attended the mega rally are Governors of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa and Peter Mbah of Enugu State.
The PDP Governors led by Bala Mohammed say they are solidly behind the emergence of Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie to be the next occupier of Osadebe House.
