New executives of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union Journalists, NUJ, in Zamfara State have emerged. The six-member Executives emerged unopposed through a consensus arrangement, with Ishaq Zaki of the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN as the Chairman, Aminu Mayanchi as Secretary from the Path Newspaper Sokoto, and Babangida Ibrahim of Africa Independent Television, AIT, as Treasurer.

Others are Ibrahim Sidi Muhammad of the Peoples Daily, as Vice-Chairman, Lawal Aliyu of Liberty Television as Financial Secretary and Bala Muhammad as Auditor.
Dignitaries at the inauguration of the new Executives called on journalists who are purveyors of public good to ensure they exhibit good behaviour and attitude by jettisoning African time which they described as unIslamic and wrong.

In addition, they want Journalists to set the right direction for the country through their reportage for things to take shape and improve the development of Nigeria.

The event, which brought the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the major opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, together, emphasised the need for journalists to positively project the issues affecting their parties.

The ruling PDP in the State implored journalists to support the State Government by offering balanced, fair and unbiased reportage of the administration to ensure the progress and economic development of the State.

The new Executives of the Chapel are to pilot the affairs of the Chapel for the next three years.
